Although she had a tough early life because of the separation from her father, Lyonne made good progress in studies. She began acting immediately upon having left school. Following her graduation, she was awarded several nominations and awards for her work. The actress was also considered for a Primetime Emmy Award. Her private life remains troubled, despite her successful career. She has been arrested for driving impaired and her landlord has kicked her out for being disruptive. Lyonne was also plagued by health problems when she was young. She underwent an open heart operation following a heart infection.
