Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into a mixed ethnic family. Her father is Nigerian Swiss as is her mom who's English. She grew in the south London community estate, as a teenager, she 14, attended The Brit School. She graduated with a BA in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. While at the academy, she performed in a number of performances on stage, such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making appearances as a guest for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film of debut is her role in the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred with Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The film's success led her to play Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in the six-episode series Trexx & Flipside as Ollie. In 2008 she landed Bambi's character on ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. She appeared in both series 2 and 3. Madekwe appeared in the comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). She was also in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path which was written composed by David Watson.
Madekwe was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC show The Beautiful Life. The two-episode drama aired just two weeks on The CW and then it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Following her appearance as a regular on the initial two seasons it was reported in late May 2013 that Madekwe was set to depart the series following a guest appearance in the premiere episode from the 3rd season. The actress portrayed Tituba in the television series Salem from 2014 to 2016. In June 2012, she got married to her long-time partner actor Iddo Goldberg. They've collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he is also a part of the cast on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty as well as her four brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers, who are all athletic, played in the summer months and play hockey in winters. Ashley was never able to walk but she was able to dance. When she turned two-and-a-half she started Baby Ballet and fell in love. Ashley discovered her love for dance when she was just a few years old. Ashley continued to perform competitively through high school graduation, in top divisions such as tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and much more. Top soloists at important competitions like International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
