Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance versatility earned her praise in a variety of styles from period dramas to thrillers and action. Johansson is the daughter of an architect and producer was brought up within New York City. Her twin brother Hunter and she were the youngest siblings. When she reached seven, her interest in acting was growing. She started to audition for commercials. Following a short period, she began studying in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the years following it was the time that the Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. When she was a kid, Johansson appeared in Sophistry alongside Ethan Hawke and made her movie debut at Rob Reiner's North on the set of Rob Reiner's North in. Johansson subsequently appeared as a character in Just Cause (1995) but her breakthrough was Manny & Lo (1996) an upcoming film that follows orphaned sisters who run away. The Horse Whisperer (2000), in which she played the role of a teenage girl who has a deformity because of an accident earned the film critical acclaim. Then in Ghost World 2001 (as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca), Johansson gained an even greater amount of attention. Like many actresses who are new, she chose to develop her talents in the theatre. As she was making her stage debut with Wildflower she was also working on different projects across USA.
